For reference, using fingering yarn with 2.5mm hook will produce a male cactus of about 9.5cm / 3.75in tall (including hat) and female cactus of about 7.5cm / 3in tall. You can make them bigger with a thicker yarn and bigger hook and smaller with a thinner yarn and smaller hook.
